LOS ANGELES, July 7, 2017 - Hillsides guests attended the agency’s annual Farm to Table dinner at the private Pasadena estate of Jim and Chelisa Vagim, which raised nearly $20,000. Set in resort-like grounds and a private lake, the estate overlooked the San Gabriel Valley with stunning views for all guests to enjoy the summer evening.
Noted restaurateur Claud Beltran, owner of Claud and Co. catering and the Pasadena restaurants the Eatery and Bacchus’ Kitchen, served as chef for the evening presenting organic, farm-fresh food and fare. Ross Harper, steel drum musician, was on hand to serenade guests while sipping on cocktails at the bocce ball court. Guests had the chance to answer the summer wishes of the teens who live in Hillsides satellite homes.
During the evening, Manny Campos, a former resident of Hillsides, shared why the four years he spent at Hillsides were the best times in his childhood. Along with his mother who stayed connected with him, the care, love and nurturing he received from staff at the Hillsides residential treatment program transformed his life.
Event sponsors were Lauralyn Deringer, Brent and Leah Mason, Jennifer Brian, Uyen-Uyen Vo, Annie Brose and Chris Anzalone, Don and Sally Clark, Ava and Ed Herrera, Michele and Matt Van Buren, Debbe and Spike Booth, and Ricardo and Rory Olivarez.
